Managing Services Through an Agent
Telecom Agents offer varying degrees of ongoing management. They can include:
- Inventories and audits of services
- Acting as an interface between carrier and customer
- Providing single POC across multiple carriers for service, changes, and repair
- Regular account reviews (monthly, quarterly, annually)
- Handling Tier 1 helpdesk role for telecom or acting as a Tier 4 support for complex issues
- Taking full responsibility for telecom as an outsourced Telecom Manager
- Interfacing between AP and IT to ensure that correct services are billing correctly
Some of these services can be offered at no charge as a result of compensation received from carriers, some incur additional fees. Some key differences between managing telecom directly with carriers and using an agent are:
| Direct Rep | Agent | |
| Experience | 6-month average tenure | 5+ years average tenure of a telecom Agent |
| Multiple Carriers | One POC for EACH carrier | One POC for ALL carriers |
| Management Tools | Multiple portals for online access | Single portal for managing all carriers |
